Want justice?
Whether the situation is highly personal and private, a family matter, a local issue, or affects even more people, it is good to want justice and work toward justice.
Sometimes the systems in place make it difficult to find justice. In these times, it can be helpful to seek out resources that are outside of the established or official systems of the state. Since we believe that carceral systems are not the best way to deliver justice, we are listing some resources that are more community-based, in an effort to move away from dependence on systems that are not working to the benefit of most survivors of violence and injustice.
These resources can be used in different ways. You might start with the question: what kind of justice am I looking for?
If the justice you seek is individual, personal, and having to do with your own experiences, then you can start with the resources in the”individual” category.
If the justice you seek is within a specific community and a specific local area, you can explore the resources listed under the category of local community.
If the justice you seek pertains to a small group within a community, such as relationship or organization, you can check out the resources listed under the category of small group.
If you are open to the idea of building online with those who may have something to offer you beyond your local community, you can explore the category of online community.
This is a work in progress and grows slowly because we are just some local people in Minneapolis and St. Paul who care about it, and no one is paid. But we keep returning because we care about this work, and this is one way to make the world we want. Please feel free to reach out on our contact page or Instagram with any questions or comments. We love to talk about these things and we are always ready to learn more.
