Why do we need transformative justice in MN?
Because those most affected have led the way to change. Because Minnesota’s history is shaped by racism and Black, Indigenous, and immigrant communities in Minnesota have been calling for true justice for generations.

Because the murder of George Floyd in South Minneapolis was yet another moment when the injustice was unbearable and Black Minnesotans led the world to see that a world without cops is possible in out lifetimes.
Because transformative justice work has been done before and we have a lot to build from. Because when Mia Mingus and Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha each spoke in Minneapolis in past years, we were listening and learning.
Because this is the moment we have been waiting for, and we can do this now.
